Oh hey there! , My name is Lauren. If you know my face already then lucky me because we are already connected. You might be a loyal follower and/or a Deep Speaker who prioritises therapy and who I get the absolute honour to work with. But if I am new to you, then welcome to our page!
Personally I am a Mum of two boys, age 7 and 4 and I am married to a man who I have been with for 20 years. Other members of our little family include our two old dogs named Romeo and Stella and our quirky quaker parrots Cosmo and Honey. Being a devoted and busy Mum and a business owner, I don't have much time for myself, but when I do, I like to go to the gym, hike, and go to dinner with friends.
Professionally, my Psychology degree, Social Work Masters and 13 years of experience in Mental Health have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to become a confident and diverse therapist. But beneath those things I am by nature a self confessed extrovert with an insatiable love of being around people and building valuable connections. As an enormous empath, my investment in the lives of other comes from a place of huge compassion and genuine positive regard. I am trained in many psychological interventions such as CBT, ACT Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and EMDR. My biggest passion is treating trauma and helping people realise their worth in this world.
I founded Deep Speak in 2020 with a hope that my genuine care for people would be felt by those that found my service and that this would allow me to grow my practice enough so that I could help as many people as possible, in a meaningful way while doing what I love most.
I am passionate about all people living life to the full. Using my Masters in Social Work (Professional Qualifying), EMDR training, and other therapies I am able to address the needs of individuals in a compassionate, warm, non-judgemental and effective manner. I have worked as a Family Counsellor in a not-for-profit organisation for many years and also in private practice. I am flexible in my approach and work with a variety of clients.
I am a mother of two amazing young men. I enjoy hiking, walking Castle Hill, exploring our beautiful region and spending time with friends.
I currently hold a Masters in Clinical Psychology and have been working in community mental health since 2018. Originally I am from Ohio, United States and such, I have a passion for connecting with people from all walks of life. My therapy is guided by a blend of the client’s life experience and my clinical knowledge. I have a rich understanding and compassion for working with adults with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance use disorders. I utilise a range of treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
As a working mum I take a holistic view to my therapy, as a work-life-body balance is important to both mental and physical health. I enjoy reading, walking (when it’s not hot), movies, and yoga.
I have over 10 years of experience in administration. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science which makes me even more focused on providing amazing administration support to Deep Speak because I am helping people help people.
I have many years of experience with administration and book keeping. I have a huge interest in mental health. Working for Deep Speak allows me to utilise my skills in an area that I care about.
